When cash isn’t an option anymore…
I’ve noticed more and more situations where cash just doesn’t cut it. It all started when I set up the PayPay app on my kids’ phones to claim their Myna Points, which kicked off the digitalization of their spending. Recently, they were planning a trip to Disneyland with friends and realized they had to buy tickets online. We managed to pay with PayPay that time, but it made me think a credit card would be really handy. After some digging, I found a card you can issue in a child’s name and applied right away.
The struggle of receiving the card…
The card was sent via a very strict type of “Person-Only Delivery,” and we ran into a snag where I couldn’t accept it on their behalf. I had to re-apply, and my child had to show their My Number Card as ID to receive it in person. Usually, having a photo ID that matches your current address isn’t a big deal, but it can be a real headache depending on the circumstances. Proving you are who you say you are is surprisingly tough! (lol)
