Shiva: Delicious, Piping Hot Giant Naan at This Authentic Indian-Nepali Spot!

Gourmet

After finishing my errands at Shinagawa City Office, I decided to grab an early lunch. I walked along the Tokyu Oimachi Line towards the station, ended up at Oimachi Station, and noticed Shiva, an Indian-Nepali restaurant right next to it. What really caught my eye was the sign saying “Freshly Baked Naan” – it made me crave naan more than curry!

Perhaps because it was still early, around 11 AM, there were only a few customers inside, so it wasn’t crowded at all. I was torn between the classic Butter Chicken and Saag Curry, and I ended up ordering Saag Curry. They quickly brought out the lassi and salad.

A little while later, the naan and curry arrived, and the first thing that surprised me was how HUGE the naan was! You can probably tell just by comparing it to the glass of lassi. And it was piping hot, freshly baked. It was so hot it was hard to tear, but it was incredibly chewy and delicious. The Saag Curry was also hot and substantial, but it was a lot milder than I expected. Personally, given the portion size, I might have preferred a bit more of a kick. Still, I was super satisfied with the generous, piping hot, chewy naan, enjoying Indian curry after a long time. I wish there was a place like this near my workplace (maybe there is, I just haven’t found it yet!).
