It feels like ages since I discovered this shop in Daikanyama, but their apple pie has always been one of my absolute favorites. Sometimes, I get this intense craving for it, and even though it’s about a 1.5-hour round trip walk, I just have to go buy it.

They offer different types of apple pies each season, and among them, our family’s absolute favorite is the “Big Apple Pie.” But that’s a seasonal item, only available from October to March. Aside from the sour apple pie, which is available year-round, I wondered if there would be any limited-edition apple pies around this time of year, in May. When I went to the shop, I found the 14 Lincoln Street Apple Pie! It’s a spring-exclusive, with a perfectly balanced tartness that makes it refreshing. But with its flaky, substantial crust, it’s quite filling and very satisfying.
Since it’s apple-based, naturally, various kinds of apple pies are offered from autumn to winter, and the Maple Apple Pie is also one of my favorites. Strangely though, I often get an intense craving for it from spring to summer, and then I go to the shop and think, “Oh (only sour apple pie is here…), right, it’s not the season…” In that sense, I’m glad the spring-exclusive 14 Lincoln Street Apple Pie was still available this time.
