The Siphonista: Enjoying the Brewing Process

Daily Reflections

I Was Really Torn…

Tiger’s high-end coffee maker, the Siphonista, launched around February this year. I already have an espresso machine and a regular coffee maker, so it’s a classic example of something I definitely didn’t need. But ever since it came out, I couldn’t stop thinking about it! I mean, siphon coffee I’ve had before was always delicious, and I figured maybe I could enjoy the whole process of making coffee with it.

I Bought It!

So, yeah, I bought it! After a long time agonizing over it, I pretty much impulse-bought it without really paying attention to the features. Turns out, it can make 9 different types of coffee with 3 flavor stages x 3 strength stages, which is actually more fun than I expected! First, I tried brewing a cup with the standard settings.

Watching the brewing process, with the water bubbling up like a fountain, is really entertaining. And the whole mechanism of pouring the brewed coffee with a lever makes the entire brewing process enjoyable. It was one of my goals for getting it, but it truly feels fun, almost luxurious. It only makes two cups at a time, so it feels pretty personal, but hey, that’s more than enough for me!
